Gerald B. Gillard, 63 of Mira Gut passed away on Monday, Sept. 12, 2011.
Born in Glace Bay, he was the son of the late Hursel and Annie Mae (Gillis) Gillard. During his career, Gerald worked for, Cameron's Lumber, Phalen's Bakery, Ideal Foods, Dilney's Trucking and MacDonald Trucking.
He is survived by sisters, Jacqueline (Robert) Notarfranco, Enid (Berry) Warner, Glace Bay and brothers, Irvin (Joan), Thorold, Ont., Hurcel (Sheila), Sydney Mines and David (Anderine), Corner Brook, Nfld.
Visitation for Gerald will be held at Patten Funeral Home, 71 Union St., Glace Bay on Monday, Sept. 19,2011, from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Funeral service will be held on Tuesday in Patten Funeral Home Chapel at 2 p.m. with Rev. Gilbert Dube officiating. Interment will be in Forest Haven Memorial Gardens, Sydney.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations to the SPCA or to a charity of choice would be greatly appreciated.
