It is with great sadness we announce the death of Arnold Richard Gorveatt on Friday, October 16, 2009 at the Cumberland Regional Health Care Centre in Upper Nappan.
Born in Lorneville NS, he was a son of the late John and Della (Allen) Gorveatt.
Arnold was a building contractor in Ontario and Amherst area.
He was the last surviving member of his immediate family.
He will be lovingly remembered by his daughter, Shirley (Bob) Burgess of Cobourg, ON; son, Rodney (Barbara) of Amherst; granddaughter Terry Legere and grandson Michael Gorveatt; four great grandchildren, Katie, Megan, Aiden and Ashton; as well as several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his wife the former Frances Briggs; grandson Rodney Jr., granddaughter Kim Gilmour, and his brothers Floyd and Ralph and sisters Beulah and Margaret.
A private visitation and funeral service will be held at a later date. Arrangements are under the direction of Campbell’s Funeral Home, Amherst (667-9906)
In lieu of flowers, donations in Arnold’s memory may be made to the Cumberland Regional Health Care Foundation.
