Wendell Koudelka age 70 years of Bracken, Saskatchewan died on Friday, September 23, 2011 at the Pasqua Hospital in Regina, Saskatchewan. He was born at Bracken on February 13, 1941 and received his education at Tabor School. Wendell began farming at a young age and then took over the Family Farm after the passing of his father in 1963. He stayed on the farm with his mother until 1969 when she moved to Shaunavon. He married Helen Facette on June 8, 1968 and they expanded the family farm to what it is today. He loved attending auction sales, working in the shop and a good visit with his own pot of coffee. He enjoyed reading his collection of Western Producers and spending time with his grandchildren. He was predeceased by his father Joe on August 10, 1963, his mother Gladys on January 1, 1988, one brother David on May 24, 2008 and his dog Pitou. He is survived by his wife Helen; his children Rendean Koudelka (Stephen Tapp) of Whitecourt, Alberta, Noel, Sean and Ethan; Geraldine Ham (Robby) of Frontier, Saskatchewan, Keegan, Kadin, Taron, and Briley; Brenda Koudelka (Cliff Cooper) of Hodgeville, Saskatchewan, James Koudelka, Ashley Cooper and Spencer Cooper; Joe Koudelka (Marie) of Bracken, Saskatchewan, Sonya, Ashtin and Savannah; Jason Koudelka (Gina Keeping) of Medicine Hat, Alberta, Charlie; and Julia Koudelka of Moose Jaw, Saskatchewan; his sister Anne Koudelka as well as by numerous nieces and nephews. Funeral Services were held from Bracken Community Hall in Bracken on Thursday, September 29, 2011 at 2:00 p.m. with Funeral Celebrant Bernadette Schneider officiating. The eulogy was presented by Glen Honey and special music was provided by Kathy Grant and Kevin Grant. Interment took place at Bracken Cemetery at Bracken.
