With heartfelt sadness, we announce the sudden passing of our beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother and friend on Sunday, Sept. 18, 2011.
Bob was born in North Sydney, Cape Breton on Dec. 27, 1938.
He will be fondly remembered by wife, Kay; sons, Kevin (Suzanne), Rob (Cindy), Ross (Marie-Pierre); his grandchildren, Cameron, JT, Ann-Charlotte, Angelique and baby Alexandra; sister, Pat Ryan (Jim); brother, Aubrey (Cathy); sister-in-law, Sharon; nieces, a nephew and many cousins.
He was predeceased by parents, Cameron and Rose and infant brother, Cameron.
Bob served proudly for 25 years in the RCMP following which he established R.T. Martell Associates. He was associated with the Winnipeg Jets as security representative as well as advisor for the Manitoba Moose.
He still actively played hockey and recently began enjoying his winters in Florida with Kay. He dreamed of his beloved Cape Breton and was able to visit one last time three weeks ago.
A memorial service took place on Saturday, Sept. 24, 2011 at Stonewall United Church, Stonewall, Man.
Donations, in Bob’s memory may be made to the Carmen United Church, Sydney Mines.
