PICKLE, FRANK HUGHSON - The death of Frank Hughson Pickle, age 91, husband of Betty (Evans) Pickle of Springfield, NB, occurred at the Dr. V.A. Snow Centre, on Saturday, October 1, 2011. He was born on September 24, 1920, in Springfield, NB, the son of the late John and Gertrude (Sandford) Pickle. Frank served in World War II for four years in the army as a Signalman. Following the war he worked for NB Power for 39 years. Frank is survived by his wife Betty; son Donald of Marathon, ON; step-sons Frank (JoAnne), Philip (Susan), Mark (Angie) and Darin (Yvonne) Evans; step-daughters Joann (Ed) Curran, Ellen (Ian) Ruddick and Julie (David) Coyle; 14 grandchildren Amy, Stephanie, Richard, Rebecca, Nathan, Jane, Maggie, Celia, Julia, Shauna, Heather, Tara, Danielle, and Caleb; eight great grandchildren; sister Louise Mercer; sister-in-law Mary Pickle; several nephews and nieces. He was predeceased by his first wife Dorothy; brother Roland Pickle; sister Marion Allaby; brothers-in-law Guy Mercer and Ardon Allaby.
He is resting at Sherwood's Funeral Home and Life Tribute Centre (506-839-2156), 18 Scovil Road, Norton, NB, with visiting on Tuesday, from 3 to 5 and 6 to 8 p.m. Funeral service, conducted by The Rev. Robert Marsh, assisted by brother-in-law The Rev. Canon George Akerley, will be held on Wednesday, October 5, 2011, at 2:00 pm. from Trinity Anglican Church, Springfield, Following cremation, interment will be in Bayview Cemetery at a later date.
