Passed peacefully away at the Waterford Hospital, St. John’s on Saturday, October 1, 2011, William James ‘Bill’ Ash of Carbonear, age 79 years. Predeceased by parents: Allen James and Mary Ann (Burke); sister: Emma and brother-in-law: Leo McCarthy; aunt: Lillian and uncle: Sam Green; nephew: Leo McCarthy. Leaving to mourn, six nephews: Jim (Marilyn) McCarthy and Fred (Laura) McCarthy, both of Pictou, NS, Steve (Marg) McCarthy, Port aux Basques, Larry (Wallace) McCarthy, St. John’s, Tony (Monica) McCarthy, Fort McMurray, AB and Kevin (Penny) McCarthy, Clarenville; seven nieces: Anna Mary (Dave) Follett, Labrador City, Phyllis (Joe) Fry, Kelligrews, Ruth (George) Coish, Lewisporte, Peggy (Eric) Davis, Pasadena, Frances (Bill) Nichols, Truro, NS, Linda Parsons, Stephenville and Tina (Harold) Slade, Brooks, AB; also a large number of other relatives and friends. Inurnment to take place on Thursday, October 6 at 3:00 p.m. in the Salvation Army Cemetery, Carbonear.
