Peacefully at the Prince County Hospital Summerside, on Monday, Oct. 19, 2009, of Vernon A. Cousins of 29 Sunset Dr., Kensington, aged 83 years. Born in Park Corner on Sept. 29, 1926, son of the late James W. and Annie Jean (Lamont) Cousins. Husband of Laura R. (Mountain) Cousins. Father of Marion (Wayne) Bearisto, Kensington, John (Faye) Cousins, Park Corner, Marvin (late Daniella Maria Vargas Cartin), Jan Jose Costa Rica and Gerald Cousins, Kensington. Grandfather to Cory (Bonnie Murley) Bearisto, Charlottetown, Daniel Cousins and Gavin Cousins both of Park Corner. Brother-in-law of Ruby Cousins, Spring Valley, Garnet Pottruff, Hamilton, Ont., Audrey Mountain, Darnley and Ruth Mountain, Summerside. Also surviving are several nieces, nephews and cousins. Predeceased by brothers and sisters, Donald and Grace Cousins, Elizabeth “Bessie” and Horace Meek, Maurice Cousins and Amy Pottruff. Brothers-in-law, Wallace Mountain and Robert Mountain. Resting at the Davison Funeral Home, Kensington, for visitation on Thursday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Funeral Friday in the Davison Funeral Home Chapel at 1:30 p.m. Interment in Geddie Memorial Cemetery, Spring Brook. If so desired contributions may be made to the Palliative Care Unit of Prince County Hospital or P.E.I. Cancer Treatment Unit of Queen Elizabeth Hospital.
