It is with sadness we announce the passing of Laura Mae MacInnis in the Inverness Consolidated Memorial Hospital, Inverness, on Wednesday, Oct. 12, 2011.
Born in Skye Glen, she was a daughter of the late Annie (MacPhee) and John Murdoch MacInnis.
She was a devoted member of Stewart United Church, Whycocomagh, and a faithful supporter of the UCW (United Church Women).
She was employed in Quincy, Mass., U.S.A., for many years, then retired to the old home in Skye Glen, where she enjoyed a quiet life.
She is survived by sisters, Margaret, Delena, Jessie, Phyllis (D.J. Ferguson), Edna, Janet (Angus Scott), Shirley and Willena (Peter Parker); brothers, Morrison (Laura) and Jackie (Marie); sister-in-law, June MacInnis, Toronto.
She was predeceased by sister, Mae, brothers, Murdoch and Stewart, nephews, Sheldon and Graham MacKay, brothers-in-law, Neil Campbell, Hector MacKinnon, Lauchie MacKinnon, Jackie Morrison, Gordon MacLennan and Neil MacKay.
Visitation will be from 2-9 p.m., today (Thursday) in the Dennis Haverstock Funeral Home, Whycocomagh. Funeral service will be 2 p.m., Friday, Oct. 14 from Stewart United Church, Whycocomagh, with Rev. Donna Tourneur officiating. Burial will follow in Skye Glen Cemetery.
Memorial donations may be made to Stewart United Church, Skye Glen Cemetery, or a charity of one’s choice.
