John Knoblauch passed away quietly on April 22, 2011 at the age of 93 years, in the Moose Jaw Union Hospital after a brief illness. He was predeceased by his first wife, Mary Marie (Bastedo); second wife, Bessie (Wharton); brother, George; sisters, Minnie (Missikewitz) and Elsie (Zimmerman). John is survived by his wife, Isabelle (Stewart); sister, Eva (Meyer); step children, Susan (Brent) Larmor, Bobby (Kelly) Stewart, Shirley (Horst) Baender; special grandson Andy Larmor, plus many nieces, nephews, step-grandchildren and great grandchildren. John was born and raised in Southey, SK. During WW2 he served in the Canadian Army. He began employment in 1951 with the CPR Railway in Moose Jaw and retired 28 years later in 1979. John and Isabelle were active members of St. Marks Presbyterian Church until this winter when his health no longer allowed. He enjoyed dancing, and most of all socializing with friends and family. At John’s request cremation has taken place and a Memorial Service will be held on Monday October 17, 2011 at 1:30pm at the W. J. Jones & Son Funeral Chapel. Della Ferguson will officiate. Interment will take place at Rosedale Cemetery. Donations to St. Mark’s Presbyterian Church in his memory would be appreciated.
