It is with heavy hearts and deepest sorrow that we, the family of Sherry Lynn Buffett, announce her passing on Oct. 12, 2011, after a short illness.
Born in Alder Point on March 13, 1966, Sherry was the youngest daughter of the late Gordon and Irma (Devoe) Buffett. She was a member of St. Anne’s parish, Alder Point.
Sherry worked at Clearwater Fish Plants in Alder Point and North Sydney. She was a volunteer at the Sydney Mines Food Bank for the last number of years.
Sherry was a kind and loving person, and will be sadly missed by everyone who knew her, especially her family, who have lost a precious sister.
Sherry is survived by her children, Kenny and Gloria Jean; her companion, Gary Merritt; her sisters, Gloria (Wayne) Musgrave, Jean (Pat) Melvin and Wendy (Harold) Castle; her brothers, Wayne (Denise) and Jacob (Judy) and many family and friends.
Besides her parents, she was predeceased by an infant brother, Gerard.
Visitation for Sherry Lynn Buffett will be held in the J. M. Jobes Funeral Home, 635 Main St., Sydney Mines today (Friday), October 14, 2011, from 2-4 & 7-9 p.m. A Mass of Christian burial to celebrate her life will take place Saturday at 10:30 a.m. in St. Anne’s Church, Alder Point, with Fr. Peter MacLeod officiating. The burial will be in St. Joseph Cemetery, Bras d’Or.
