John Austin Myers Jr., age 71 passed away on Thursday, September 29, 2011 at Conway Medical Centre in Conway, South Carolina after a long battle with cancer.
Mr. Myers was born in New Orleans, Louisiana on August 20, 1940. John was a loving husband, father, grandfather, teacher and friend. He had dual citizenship and lived in British Columbia for several years. He taught school at Chase Secondary and Barriere Secondary. He was a member of Mensa and a US Navy Veteran.
John is survived by his daughter Terral (Steve) Causey of Conway, SC, his son John A. Myers III (Shannon) and grandchildren; William Koster, Alexandra Koster, John Austin Myers IV and Bailey Myers. He is also survived by his sister Lynda (Larry) Amacker of Poplarville, MS and his aunt Carol Calvo of Algiers, LA.
John was predeceased by his wife Marsha and his parents John A. Myers Sr. and Ora Myers.
He will be missed dearly by his closest friends and former students.
Memorial Services will be held at a later date in New Orleans.
