Simone Tompkins
With sadness, the family of Simone Tompkins, of Joggins, announce her peaceful passing at the age of 86, at the Gables Nursing Home, Amherst on Saturday, October 15, 2011.
Born in Joggins, she was a daughter of the late Gabriel and Helene (Bayart) Waterlot.
Simone was a member of the Joggins United Church, the Ladies Auxiliary of the Royal Canadian Legion and a former member of the Mayflower Rebekah Lodge. A mother and grandmother, she enjoyed crocheting, knitting, cooking, talking on the phone and loved animals.
Simone will be sadly missed by her husband of 64 years, Stanley Tompkins, Joggins; daughters, Lisa Tompkins, Red Deer Alberta and Andrea (Lawrence Brown), Lower Cove, NS; 5 grandchildren, Colin, Selena, Tyler, Jenna and Tyson and 2 great grandchildren, Brandon and Kia; a brother Andrew Waterlot, Joggins, NS and a nephew Bobby Waterlot, Moncton, NB.
She was predeceased by a brother Edmond "Eddie" Waterlot.
Simone's remains have been entrusted into the care of the Furlong Jones Funeral Home, Amherst from where the funeral service will be held Wednesday October 19, 2011 at 2 pm, Rev. Christine MacLeod officiating. Burial in the River Hebert Cemetery. Family and friends are invited to a time of visitation at the funeral home on Tuesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm.
