Reverend Robert James Kuglin, age 82, went to be with his Lord and Savior on October 10, 2011, following surgery in Regina, Saskatchewan. Robert was born on April 26, 1929, in Holland Township, ON. He married Gwen Bryans on June 20, 1953, at Chatsworth, ON. Robert began his post-secondary education at Canadian Bible College, Regina Saskatchewan in 1949, and later, graduated with his Masters of Ministry from the Canadian Theological Seminary in 1982. Robert was pastor to churches with the Christian and Missionary Alliance in Alberta, British Columbia, Nova Scotia, and Ontario. In 1972, Robert became an evangelist traveling throughout Canada, the United States, and finally overseas in several countries. In 1980, he moved with his family from Ontario to Regina, and in 2002, Robert & Gwen moved to Pennant, SK, where they enjoyed small town community life. Robert’s heart was for those who didn’t know Christ in a personal way. He wrote a book about his personal journey to finding Christ, which he loved to give away to others. Bob liked to camp with his family, and celebrate holidays together with them. Bob was athletic in his younger years and that carried over later in life to watching track and field, football, baseball, and hockey on TV. He loved his children and grandchildren and will be sadly missed by all. Robert is survived by his loving wife, Gwen; four children, Brian (Cynthia) Bekk, Garry (Dianne) Kuglin, Bonnie (Steve) Regier, Ross (Sandra) Kuglin; 19 grandchildren, Alana, Benjamin, Cayla, Dana, Elijah, Zachary, Kristen, Jodie, Karen (Gary), Kenneth, Jill (Scott), Theo, Shawn (Melissa), Randy, Krista, Jonathan, Brett, Nicole, Brooke; four great-grandchildren; brothers, Dennis (Jean) Kuglin, William (Helen) Kuglin, Joseph Kuglin, and Thomas (Margaret) Kuglin; sisters, Ilean (Kenn) Austin and Helen Homan; sister-in-law, Irene Draper; and brother-in-law, David (Patti) Bryans. He was predeceased by his parents, Lloyd & Thelma Kuglin; brother, Bazil; sisters-in-law, Alison, Mary and Grace; and by brothers-in-law, Donald, Harvey and Lloyd. The Funeral Service was held on Saturday, October 15, 2011 at 2:00 pm from the Trailview Alliance Church, Swift Current, SK with Rev. Mike Smart officiating. The musicians for the service were Lois Klassen and Marilyn Ginther. “It Is Well with My Soul”, “Pass Me Not O Gentle Savior” and “It Is Glory Just to Walk with Him” were sung by the congregation under the direction of John Regier. The obituary was shared by Ross Kuglin with tributes brought by Frank Rempel, by Ken Draper on behalf of Ambrose College and by a PowerPoint presentation. Special music was provided by the Kuglin Family singing, “Be Still My Soul” and by John Regier singing a “Medley“. The ushers in the church were Harvey Klassen, Fred Entz, Ken Rhode and Karl Zeller. A Private Family Interment will be held at a later date. The following grandsons served as pallbearers, Brett Kuglin, Shawn Regier, Randy Regier, Kenneth Aldred, Benjamin Bekk, Theo Jones, Elijah Bekk, Zachary Bekk and Jonathan Regier. In memory of Robert Kuglin, donations made to the Gideon’s International or to the Global Advance Fund would be appreciated by the family. Funeral arrangements were in care of Swift Current Funeral Home, Swift Current, SK.
