ASH, Calvin– Passed away at his home, Portland, Bonavista Bay on October 11, 2011 after a courageous battle with cancer, Calvin Ash, age 85 years. Predeceased by parents William and Ruth (Hancock) Ash, brothers James, Donald, Edric and Wilfred, sisters Ruth McCracken, Nellie Norman, Phoebe Long and Dolly Russell. Left with fond and loving memories his wife of 57 years, Maxine; daughters: Pat (Malcolm), Lois (Clayton) and son Jeff (Colene); sister Genevieve Miller (Kitchener, deceased) of St. John’s; brother Maurice (Barbara) of Porter’s Lake, NS; grandchildren: Anne (Murley), Stuart, Nick and Chelsey; a great-granddaughter Sheyanne; step-grandchildren: Elizabeth, Nick and Zachary, as well as a large circle of relatives and friends. Funeral service took place at St. Andrews Anglican Church, Brooklyn, Bonavista Bay on Friday, October 14, 2011 with interment at the Anglican Cemetery, Brooklyn. In his memory donations may be made to Daffodil Place.
