TAYS, DORIS - Doris May Tays (nee Robinson) of Norton, NB, wife of the late Horace Tays, passed away in her 97th year, at the Saint John Regional Hospital on Sunday, October 23, 2011. She is survived by five daughters, Carole (John) Hreno of Winnipeg, MB, Myrna (Donald) Richards of Hampton, Maureen Tays of Winnipeg, MB, Linda Tays of Moncton, Sheryl (Lee) Carruthers of Airdrie, AB; one son Brian (Lynn) Tays of Mercer Settlement; twelve grandchildren; thirteen great grandchildren; sister Margaret Piper of Lindsay, ON; sisters-in-law Thelma Tays of Saint John, and Morfydd Robinson of Peterborough, ON; several nieces, nephews, cousins and many friends. She was predeceased by her sons Kenneth and Dale Tays; grandson Troy Tays; brothers Leslie Robinson and Robert Robinson; sister Elizabeth Robinson. Doris was born on October 26, 1914, in Bywell, Hescham, Northumberland County, England, the eldest daughter of James and Elizabeth (Harding) Robinson.
She is resting at Sherwood’s Funeral Home and Life Tribute Centre (506-839-2156), 18 Scovil Road, Norton, NB, with visiting on Wednesday, from 3 to 5 and 6 to 8 pm. Funeral Service, conducted by the Rev. Wally Collett, will be held on Thursday, October 27, 2011, at 11:00 am, from Church of the Ascension, Apohaqui, NB. Following cremation, interment will take place in Riverbank Cemetery. Donations in memory of Doris, may be made to a memorial of the donor’s choice.
