Mary passed away peacefully with her loving family at her side and entered into God's loving embrace on Saturday, October 22, 2011 at Lakeridge Health Centre Oshawa, in her 87th year.
Mary was the daughter of the late, Maude (Marche) and Michael Lahey of Port Morien, NS.
She was predeceased by her loving husband, Thomas F. Kennedy (2007).
Mary was a former resident of Copley Street, Glace Bay. She was devoted to her family and her faith.
She will be dearly missed by her sons, Robert (Julie predeceased) Lahey, Thomas (Margaret), Michael (Madonna) and John (Donna) Kennedy as well as her daughters, Mary (Lionel) MacIsaac, Maude (James) MacNeil, Anne (Alvin) Kimm, Sandra (James) Winstanley, Diane (Barry) McPhail and Kim (Donald) Snow.
Lovingly remembered by her 23 grandchildren, 23 great grandchildren and her great great grandson. Mary will also be missed by her sisters, Connie, Nola, Clara and Laura.
She was predeceased by brothers, Patrick, Michael (Buddy), and sisters, Theresa and Esther.
She will forever be an inspiration to all who loved her.
Visitation will be held on Thursday from 2-4, 7-9 p.m. in the V.J. McGillivray Funeral Home, 16 Reserve St., Glace Bay. The funeral service, officiated by Rev. Norman MacPhee is Friday morning at 10 a.m. in the funeral home chapel. Cremation to follow. Interment at St. Anthony's Parish, 23 Dominion St., Glace Bay at a later date.
As an expression of sympathy and in lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Alzheimer's Society of Canada.
