Carl Douglas Hoare

Hoare, Carl Douglas, 69, East Mountain, passed away peacefully Thursday, October 27, 2011 at home. Born in Truro, September 24, 1942, he was a son of the late William and Ruby (Bartlett) Hoare. He was a beef farmer and worked at the Department of Transportation, Chip Seal Division for many years. He is survived by his wife Velma (Roode) Hoare; son, Basil (Michelle), daughter, Tracey (Raymond) Lake, East Mountain; granddaughter, Jenna; brother Stewart (Geraldine), Bible Hill; sister-in-law, Joan Hoare. Along with his parents he was predeceased by by his son, Melvin John; brothers, Albert, Arnold; sister-in-law, Doreen Hoare. No visitation by request. A graveside service and interment will be held 11am Saturday, October 29, in the Crossroads Cemetery, Valley, Rev. Brian DeLong officiating. No flowers by request. Donations in Carl’s memory may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Nova Scotia or to the Alzheimers Society. Arrangements have been entrusted to the Mattatall ~ Varner Funeral Home, 55 Young Street Truro. Carl’s family would like to express their thanks and gratitude to the Truro VON, Valley-Kemptown First Responders, EMS Paramedics, R.C.M.P. and Dr. Bruce Phillips.
