LANDRY, Marie Florence Cecile – 92, Amirault’s Hill, Yarmouth Co., passed away after a brief illness in Yarmouth Regional Hospital. Born November 22, 1918 in Amirault’s Hill, she was a daughter of the late François and Marie (Muise) Muise. Florence was a homemaker for most of her life, having also worked at Villa St-Joseph-du-Lac for a number of years. She was a member of Holy Family Parish, Les Dames de Sainte-Anne and the oldest female member of the Indian Sluice Senior’s Club. When she wasn’t busy spending time with her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren, she enjoyed lexicon puzzles and watching sports. Florence was the last surviving member of her immediate family and she leaves behind her children, Hayden (Pauline) Landry, Hubbard’s Point; Rolande (John) Christian, Newton, New Hampshire; Anne (Roland) Pettinati, Haverhill, Mass.; Hazel (Louis) Deveau, Amirault’s Hill; Paulette Landry, South Belleville; Jerry (Shari) Landry, Lower Sackville; Frank Landry (Corinne LeBlanc), Middle West Pubnico; Doris Landry (Roger Devine), Yarmouth; Thérèse (Terry) Surette, Sluice Point, as well as 17 grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren. Aside from her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, Jérémie Benoit, as well as by children Patricia, Olivier and Corinne Landry-McCauley, and a brother, Maurice Muise. Visitation took place from 2 to 4 and again from 7-9 Tuesday, with prayers at 8 p.m. at H. M. Huskilson’s Funeral Home, 29 Albert Street, Yarmouth. The funeral mass was held at 11 a.m., Wednesday, October 26 at Holy Family Catholic Church, Amirault’s Hill, Father Maurice LeBlanc, c.j.m., officiated. Interment followed in the parish cemetery. It was requested that there be family flowers only. Memorial donations may be made to Holy Family Church or to the Yarmouth Hospital Foundation. Elle avait beaucoup de foi et était dévouée à son église. En plus de son dévouement sans pareil à ses enfants, elle adorait ses petits enfants et ses arrières petits enfants. A son tour, la « petite grand-mère » était adorée sans question.
