WILLIAM EMIL PAICU was born on the family farm in the Avonlea, Truax area on November 13, 1928 and passed away peacefully on October 26, 2011 at Providence Place in Moose Jaw where he had resided for the last year. He is predeceased by his son Ryan Dale Paicu; parents Grace and Emil Paicu; sisters Georgina and her husband Fred Tkachuk, Jenny Geisthardt and baby Maxine Paicu; brother Johnny Paicu; brothers-in-law Cliff Denton and Tony Kawka and niece Tracey Denton. He is survived by his wife Irene (Holden); daughter Shawna (Ken) Fuchs and children Cole, Caitlyn (Kevin) Gallagher and their son Linkin; son Randy (Cara) Paicu and children Trayton and Jake; son Tyler and daughter Grace; brother George (Alma) Paicu; sisters Pauline Kawka, Emilie Denton and Marie (Tom) Chapman; brother-in-law Elmer Geisthardt as well as many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews. Over the years Willie was an RM Councillor, served on the Avonlea School Board, the Saskatchewan Quarter Horse Breeders Group, the Avonlea District Lions Club, the Avonlea Museum Board and the Avonlea United Church stewards. He was a member of the Regina Flying Club flying in and out of there with his Cherokee. Willie was a farmer twenty-four seven and until the end wanted to know what was happening on the farm and how he could help with any mechanical questions. He was a good steward of the land and was involved with Nature Conservancy and Ducks Unlimited. He always said leave a little for the wildlife. “We want to thank the staff at Providence Place for their care and friendship, also the residents on St. Anthony’s Wing as they became our family”. A Celebration of Willie’s Life will be held on Tuesday, November 1, 2011 at 1:30 p.m. at W. J. Jones & Son Chapel, 106 Athabasca St. E., Moose Jaw. Reverend Marilyn Keerak will officiate. Private family memorialization will take place at a later date. Donations in lieu of flowers may be made to the Moose Jaw Health Foundation, 455 Fairford St. E., Moose Jaw, S6H 1H3.
