Passed away peacefully at Idlewyld Manor, Hamilton, Ontario on November 1st, 2011 at the age of 97. Born in North Battleford, Saskatchewan to Walter and Millicent Burden on May 12, 1914. Beloved wife of Dan Crone for 73 years. Loving mother of Wayne Crone ( Janet) and their children Wendy and Dan ( predeceased) and Diane Lumsden and her children, Katie ( Rodolfo), Michael ( Helena), Bob, Chrissy McComb ( Mark). Fondly remembered by great grandchildren Jessica, Pablo and Blanca. Sadly missed by sisters Audrey McGilvray, Phyllis Huber and many nieces and nephews. Margaret was a wonderful friend to many. Music was very special to her throughout her life. She taught both piano and voice in her early years and had an award winning 40 voice Junior Choir at Zion United in Moose Jaw, Saskatchewan in the 1940’s. She and her husband Dan made beautiful music together throughout their lives whether singing duets or as a piano/organ duo. She was also involved in soloing, church choirs, hand bell ringing, and many musical endeavors. Margaret enjoyed many interests: gardening, golf, bridge, travel, church groups, sewing, arts and crafts as well as hostessing, being a great cook and baker. Margaret’s family wishes to thank the doctor and staff at Idlewyld Manor for their wonderful care during the past 3 years. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to Idlewyld Manor Foundation, Hamilton ON. or a charity of your choice. Visitation will be Wednesday, November 9, 2011 at the M.A. Clark & Sons Funeral Home, 567 Upper Wellington St, Hamilton, from 1:00—2:30 pm with a memorial service beginning at 2:30 pm in the chapel. Reception to follow from 3:30—5:30 at the Meadowlands Retirement Home (East entrance), 1248 Mohawk Rd., Ancaster.
