J.A. Paul Donelle

J.A. Paul Donelle

DONELLE, J.A. PAUL - July 14, 1944 - November 1, 2011 - He was a man among men. How can you put into words the life of a man who touched so many lives? He had devoted his life to serving the Lord Jesus Christ and in so many ways showed the world his Saviour. Not just through the messages he preached or the testimonies he shared but through the innumerable acts of kindness and generosity he lived out. He was always ready to help someone and took the extra time with those so many had given up on. Yet he was unswerving in his passion for truth and upholding the right, it’s what made him a top-notch police officer. For him the RCMP was an opportunity to carry out what was part of his character. As a police officer, pastor and father he was a man of integrity, who demonstrated that words and actions must coincide, so he earned the respect of so many. Not just by the strength of his character but through the life he lived. He loved his family and was never so happy as when he was surrounded by them recounting his many stories. He was proud of his family; his voice would ring with pride as he spoke of the ones he loved. He was a devoted husband who made time to get away with his high school sweetheart even when life was busy. They opened up their home and everyone who came to the home was welcomed and found a man easy to talk to and who was willing to listen. He was in many ways a quiet man like an ocean swell that moves so much but with so little fanfare. He was in many ways a giant who was gentle and put into action his faith in Christ and has left a living legacy in the lives of all those he has touched. Paul is survived by his wife, Thérèse (LeBlanc) Donelle of 45 years, his two children Kimberley DeJager (Mark) and Jason Donelle (Kimberly Price); his eight grandchildren, Jessica, Christopher, Lindsay, Jonathan, Mackenzie, Kaylin, Carter and Jaxen; his two sisters Alfreda (Paul-Emile), Stella (Emery), and two brothers Roger (Denise), and Richard (Heather). He was predeceased by his father Alfred Donelle and mother Clara Donelle.
We will celebrate his life with a visitation, this Sunday, November 6 from 3pm to 5pm and 6pm to 8pm at Faith Life Church in Cap Pele on route 133 “2800 Acadie Road” off of highway 15. Funeral Service will be held Monday, November 7 at 3pm at the Moncton Wesleyan Church at 945, St. George Street, Moncton. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to support Morning Star Children’s Home/Strong Tower Christian School in Peru, where Paul’s daughter Kim and her family are currently living out his legacy by bringing a practical demonstration of Christ’s love by caring for the most vulnerable. Funeral arrangements entrusted with Fair Haven Funeral Home, 1177 Salisbury Road, Moncton (506) 852-3530.
