At the Prince County Hospital, Summerside, surrounded by her family, on Thursday, Oct. 29, 2009, of Frances Winifred Banks of Summerset Manor, formerly of Ellerslie and Freeland, aged 79, wife of the late James S Banks. Born in Cambridge, Mass., on Oct. 5, 1930, daughter of the late Frank and Catherine (Morrison) Winn. Cherished mother of Gertrude Adams, Sambro, N.S., Carolyn (Willard) Lewis, Cascumpec, Mary (Billy) Ellands, Ellerslie, Frank (Melissa) Banks, Summerside. Dear mother-in-law of Garry Wilson, Inverness, Kent Atherton, Saint John, N.B., Lavenia Banks, Summerside. Loving Grandmother of 21 grandchildren, 26 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild. Dear sister of James Winn, Tyne Valley, Bryant (Carol) Winn, California, Walter (Darlene) Winn, Tennessee. Predeceased by her parents, husband, James, children, Sterling, Katherine, Myrna, Joan and her husband Garry Oatway, son-in-law, Lewis Adams, and her sister, Mary. Resting at the Ferguson’s Tyne Valley Funeral Chapel with visiting hours on Sunday, 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Funeral service will be held at St. Peter’s Anglican Church, Foxley River on Monday at 10:30 a.m. Interment to follow in the Church Cemetery.
