Lorraine Coffin, age 77, of River Hebert, passed away peacefully at the Gables Nursing Home, Amherst surrounded by her loving family on Wednesday, November 9, 2011.
Born in River Hebert, NS, she was a daughter of the late Herbert and Dorothy (Arsenault) Berry.
Lorraine was a very kind and loving person who always put others needs and desires before her own. She was a devoted wife, mother and friend to all she knew. Even after suffering a stroke at the young age of 52, she was very grateful to all who visited and offered her care. She will be sadly missed by her family and friends and was much loved by all.
In addition to her mother Dorothy, she is dearly missed by her sons, Ronald (Linda), Edmonton, AB, Eric (Val), Fruitvale, BC, Michael (Patricia), Edmonton, AB, 1 daughter Catherine (Chris) White, Amherst, 5 grandchildren, Stephen (Gina), Brian (Jenny), Robyn (Dustin) Crocket, Karlan and Katie, 6 great grandchildren, a brother Herbert (LuAnn), Baronsfield, NS sisters, Eleanor Ryan, Montague, PEI, Lois McClary, River Hebert, NS, Brenda (Bill) Forsyth, Baronsfield, NS.
In addition to her husband Ronald and father Herbert, she was predeceased by brothers-in-law Arthur McClary and Glenn Ryan; sister-in-law Bernadette Berry.
Arrangements have been entrusted to the Furlong~Jones Funeral Home, 70 Church St, Amherst, NS (902-667-8777) where visiting hours will take place on Monday from 6 to 9 pm. A Celebration of Lorraine's life will take place at the funeral home on Tuesday, November 15, 2011 at 11 am. Following the service cremation will take place and a graveside service will be held at the Hillside Cemetery, River Hebert at a later date.
