(Known to his friends as Rusty) — November 2, 1921 - November 11, 2011. It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of a husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather at the AM Guy Memorial Hospital in Buchans, NL.
Cyril is survived by his devoted wife Winnie of 63 years; he will be lovingly remembered by his 9 children Kevin (Maureen), Doreen, Ken (Suzette), Dianne (Richard), Dorothy, Debbie (Karl) Ged (Silvana), Mary (Rod), Cathy (Brad); 20 grandchildren Michelle, Keiran, Deidre, Kenny, Gabrielle, Daniel, Gillianne, Marc, Adam, David, Connor, Brianna, Jonathan, Matthew, Hilary, Nathan, Allison, Angela, Reegan, Emily and one great-grandchild Madison; also survived by brother Leo (Pauline) and a large circle of family and friends.
Cyril is predeceased by his parents Daniel and Catherine Dalton of Harbour Main and his six sons, Cyril, Daniel, David, Robert , Keiran and Patrick; his brothers Jim, Mike and sisters Vron, Tess and Pauline; son-in-law Jeff and most recently, nephew Leo.
Cyril was born and raised in Harbour Main and worked as a heavy equipment operator with ASARCO until retiring in 1982. He was a dedicated 4th degree member of the Knights of Columbus Bishop March Council 3315 for 61 years.
Cyril will be resting at St. Theresa’s Church in Buchans until the funeral on Thursday November 17, 2011 at 2:00 pm. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the AM Guy Memorial Hospital in Buchans. Personal condolences may be posted at www.staceysfuneralhome.ca.
