Passed peacefully away at the Health Science Complex on Saturday, November 12th, 2011, John Hickey of Torbay, age 89 years. Leaving to mourn with fond and loving memories wife Margaret (nee Blake); children Theresa, David (Madeline), Jim (Carol Ann), Ann Marie (Steve Norman) and Heather; six grandchildren Christopher (Jennifer), Lisa, Ann Marie Hickey, Samantha and Rebecca Norman, Craig Clarke (Nicci) and three great grandchildren Frederick Hickey, Mya and Casen Clarke. Also leaving to mourn his sister Lena Geehan; brother – in – law Peter (Bernice) Blake; sister – in – law Theresa Hayden and numerous nieces and nephews. Special friends Mary and Ed King, Bill Codner, Paddy Hickey, Hubert Bourne and all the Manning’s Hill crowd.
Predeceased by his parents William and Mariah Hickey; parents-in-law Noah and Mary Blake and family members Jim (Gen), Dick (Mary), Dave (Isabelle) Hickey, Nell (William) Morey, Cyril Geehan, William Hayden, Rita and Warren Noseworthy.
Resting at Caul’s Funeral Home, Torbay. Visitation on Sunday from 7 p.m. - 9 p.m. and Monday from 12 noon – 9 p.m. Funeral Mass will take place on Tuesday, November 15th, 2011 at 11 a.m. from Holy Trinity Church, Torbay. Interment to follow at Holy Trinity Cemetery, Bauline Line. Flowers gratefully accepted or donations may be made in his memory to the Children’s Wish Foundation or the Heart and Stroke Foundation.
