Milford Kinney

KINNEY, MILFORD G. - (November 16, 1922 - November 12, 2011) - Milford G. Kinney of Perth-Andover, NB passed away on November 12, 2011 at the Grand Falls Manor. He was the son of the late John and Elizabeth (DeMerchant) Kinney. Milford is survived by his only son Terry (Flo); two grandchildren Travis of Alberta and Sara of British Columbia; siblings Gladys Banks, Maxine Bushby (John) and Clifton (Lorraine); neices, nephews and cousins. He was predeceased by his parents, brother Basil, sister, Mary Kuntz, wife Margaret, friends Yvone Doherty and Vera Kelly. Milford worked with his father on the farm before enlisting in the war. After the war he had his own farm, and then went to work in the construction industry. He was cement foreman on the docks of Halifax, Beechwood Dam, and the tunnel under the St. Lawrence Seaway in Montreal. In 1957 he hired on with McCain's as a crew foreman. When McCain's expanded overseas, he was instrumental in starting new plants up and training plant managers. He retired in 1987. Milford was known for his outgoing personality and was very sociable.
A memorial service will be held at White's Funeral Home, 20 Industrial Park St. Perth-Andover, NB on Saturday, November 19, 2011 at 1 pm. Interment in the Bristol Community Cemetery. A lunch will follow the service following the interment at the Florenceville Legion from 3 to 6 pm. Memorial donations of the donor's choice would be appreciated by the family. The family would like to say a special thank you to the staff at the Grand Falls Manor, the Edmundston Hospital Doctors and Nurses, and the Florenceville Legion.
