Passed peacefully away at the James Paton Memorial Hospital in Gander on Sunday, November 13, 2011 Matilda Blanche (Bishop) Guppy at the age of 97. Predeceased by her husband Gus Bishop (1977) and husband James Guppy (1998) and her daughter Evelyn Bishop (1994). Leaving to mourn son Lorne Bishop of Corner Brook, daughter Sylvia Newhook (Robert) of St. John’s, stepdaughter Karen Abbott (Karl), stepson Bill Guppy (Lorna); grandchildren Jennifer Elaan, Andrew Bishop, Rachael Bishop, Cathy Santuccione (Dan), Heather Newhook (Mark Bennett), Charles Newhook (Kelli Hynes), Kerry Lawrence (Troy Arseneault), Tracy Lawrence (Fergus Murphy), Stephanie Jenkinson (Jon), Mark Abbott, Suzanne Abbott, Lynn Guppy; great grandchildren Jada Santuccione, Andrew and Christina Bennett, Connor and Emily Jenkinson, and Quinton and Donovan Arseneault ; special friends Kerry Harris, Daphne Lawrence and Barbara Whittle as well as a wide circle of family & friends. Resting at Stacey’s Funeral Home in Gander. Funeral service was held from St. Martins Anglican Church in Gander on Wednesday, November 16 at 11:00 A.M. Interment followed at the Interfaith Cemetery Anglican Section in Grand Falls, Newfoundland. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to a charity of one’s choice.
