VAUTOUR, LÉONTINE - It is with great sadness that we announce that Léontine Vautour, 79, of Bas Cap Pelé passed away on Saturday, November 19, 2011 at the Dr. Georges L. Dumont University Hospital Centre, Moncton following a lengthy battle with cancer. Born June 26, 1932 in Little Cape, she was the daughter of the late Honoré and Eva (Arsenault) Légère. She is survived by her husband of 61 years, Françis Vautour, seven sons: Raymond (Noëlla) of Cap Pelé, Éric of Hamilton, ON, Norman, Mike (Diane), Brian (Monette), Gary and Pierre (Charlene) all of Bas Cap Pelé; two daughters: Roselind Bourgeois (Jean Guy) of Shediac Cape and Mona Auffrey (Roger) of Pré d’en Haut; one son-in-law Norbert of Memramcook, three sisters: Sarah Vautour (late Donat) of Bas Cap Pelé, Laura Melanson (late Napoléon) of Little Cape, Cécile Bernier (late Lucien) of Grand Falls, one brother: Dosithé Légère (Albertine) of Little Cape, 24 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. She is predeceased by a daughter, Eva Boudreau, three sisters: Alexina Bourque, Dina Porelle and Catherine Bourque, and one brother, Léandre Légère.
The family will receive relatives and friends at Funérarium Frenette, 2642 Acadie Rd., Cap Pelé (577-3297) on Thursday, November 24 from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. and Friday, November 25th from 9:30 a.m. until time of departure at 10:20 a.m. Funeral mass will be celebrated at Ste. Thérèse d’Avila Roman Catholic Church, Cap Pelé on Friday, November 25, 2011 at 10:30 a.m. Interment in the parish cemetery. Donations in Léontine’s memory may be made to the Dr. Georges L. Dumont University Hospital Centre (Oncology) 862-4285. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Frenette Funeral Home Shediac Ltd.
