SPENCER, IDA - 1926 - 2011 - God has welcomed a new angel home, Ida Spencer, 85, of Dieppe, NB, passed away on Tuesday, November 22th, 2011, at the Dr. Georges-L.-Dumont University Hospital Center. Born in Bouctouche, NB, she was the daughter of the late Gonzague and the late Adeline (née: Renaud) LeBlanc. Mrs. Spencer had a strong faith, she enjoyed spending time with her family, loved walking and took pleasure watching game shows. She is survived by two daughters: Ann Spencer of Dieppe and Deborah (Christian) Chaude of France; three sons: Angus (Denise “Pingette”), Bobby (Maria) and Adam ‘Tabby”, all three of Dieppe; two daughters-in-law: Florine and Carole, both of Waltham, Mass.; two brothers: Joseph “Babe” LeBlanc of Dieppe and Gerald (Thelma) LeBlanc of Cocagne; 19 grandchildren: 22 great grandchildren; a good friend, Rita LeBlanc of Dieppe as well as several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband, John Darrell Spencer in 1990; two sons: Frederick and Leonard; six sisters: Exelda, Sedee, Germaine, Aurore, Eva and Lydie; three brothers: Antellien, Zephir and Louis; three grandchildren: Ricky, Billy and Lynn and also by a very special friend, Prima LeBlanc, just a few weeks ago.
Visitation will be held from the Chartersville Funeral Home, 363 Amirault Street, Dieppe, NB, (857-1901), on Sunday from 2 to 4 pm and from 7 to 9 pm. Funeral mass will be celebrated from Ste-Thérèse Roman Catholic Church, Dieppe, NB on Monday, November 28th, 2011, at 10 am. Donations to the NB Heart & Stroke Foundation or the IWK Children Hospital would be appreciated by the family.
