Faye Benoit Condon-Merritt
Condon-Merritt, “Faye” (Benoit) – 88, Truro passed away suddenly November 24, 2011 in Cedarstone Enhanced Care, Truro. Born in Pomquet, Antigonish Co., she was the adopted daughter of the late Joseph and Theresa (Boudreau) Benoit. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend who will be sadly missed but remembered with love and a smile. Faye was happiest with her home filled with family and friends who she warmly and graciously fussed over. She especially loved her summer cottage at Cape John where she enjoyed much laughter and animated conversation with long time cottage friends. She spent many happy days with Bill at Hart Lake. Faye was an avid and exceptional bridge player and was an active member in the Catholic Women’s League. She is predeceased by her first husband, Dr. J. F. Condon and is sadly missed by her current husband, Bill Merritt. She is also survived by her daughters, Colette Condon (Gary Baudoux), Hopewell, Barbara Swazey (David McConaghy), Moncton, NB, Kathleen (Larry) Youden, Aylesford, Elizabeth (Steve) Seiffert, Frederiction, NB; grandchildren, Patrick, Angela, Erika, Jillian; great-grandchildren, Sophie, Iris, Cameron; nieces and nephews. Visitation will be held on Sunday, November 27 from 2-4 pm in Colchester Community Funeral Home, 512 Willow Street, Truro; Memorial Mass on Monday, November 28 at 11:00 am in Immaculate Conception Church, 669 Prince Street, Truro with Father Dariusz Miskowicz officiating. Interment at a later date in Holy Cross Cemetery, Westville. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Catholic Women’s League, Royal Canadian Legion, Branch 26, Heart and Stroke Foundation of Nova Scotia and the SPCA, Colchester Co..
