LEBLANC, ALBERT F. - Albert F. LeBlanc, 91, of Petit-Cap passed away peacefully surrounded by his family at the Veterans Health Centre in Moncton on Wednesday, November 23rd, 2011. Born in Petit-Cap on April 27th, 1920, he was the son of the late Alphée LeBlanc (1972) and Adèle Landry (1934) fomerly of Tédiche. A proud Canadian and Veteran, Albert was a WWII Veteran having served five years overseas in England, France, Belgium and Holland. He served in several regiments; the North Shore, les Fusiliers Mont Royal, La Chaudière and fought in the D-Day Invasion in Normandy. He was with "le Régiment de la Chaudière'' and was wounded twice in combat... the most noticible scar was the one he wore on his left cheek all his life...maintaining that the worst scars were the hidden ones ... too traumatic to share. Returning from the war in 1946, Albert immediately led an active participation as a legion member first for the Shediac Branch #33, then as one of the founders of the Cap Pelé Royal Canadian Legion Branch #91. He was responsible for the Veterans visits in the St. John and Moncton Hospitals, also Sergeant at Arms for more than 30 years. As a life member, he was an outstanding and dedicated executive member for his branch. In 2002 he recieved one of the highest award of the R.C.L. The Palm Leaf. He also was a recipient of the Meritorious Award. In the early 60's, he took the job of Wharf Master for the Petit-Cap Wharf which he did for 42 years. He was also a Public Works Road Commissioner for several years. Albert was an excellent farmer and gardener, he loved to work with his hands especially the soil and very proud of his harvest...a great family man and husband to his late lovely wife Corinne, good natured, gentle, affectionate, very humorous and always very generous for his family.
Albert will be deeply missed by his seven children: Giselle (Bob Cormier) and Régis (Rosella) both of Shediac, Jacinthe (Norbert) Bourque, Françis (Cécilia), Allard (Janet), Gilles (Odette) and Réjean (Joanne) all of Trois-Ruisseaux; three sisters: Lorette Léger of St. Joseph, Doris Brisson of Brownsburg, QC and Maria Bourque (Gérard Landry) of Cap-Pelé; two brothers: Alonzo (late Edna) of Cap-Pelé and Roméo (Rhéa) of Dieppe; fifteen granchildren: Michel, Micheline, Nadine, Tania, Mario, André, Ryan, Sheila, Stéphanie, Isabelle, Julie and Luc, Nadine, Christian and Mylène and his ten great grandchildren: Adèle, Corinne, Pacifik, Simon, Josée, Parise, Madeleine, Camie, Jayelle, Renelle, Zacharie and Audrée.
