KORTAS, JANIE VICTORIA - Janie Victoria Kortas passed away peacefully on Thursday, November 24, 2011 at Bobby’s Hospice. Born in Kzakow, Polland she was the daughter of the late Alfons and Wiktoria (Andruszaniec) Koscivszkiewicz. In addition to her parents she was predeceased by her first husband Joseph O’Brien and second husband Victor Kortas; son Edward O'Brien. Janie enjoyed camping at the Pine Cone Campground, knitting, cooking and spending time with her family. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and friend. She is survived by her son Michael O’Brien (Diane) of Grand Bay-Westfield, NB; daughter Joan Loatma of Saint John; cherished grandchildren Danielle, Samantha, Christine, Jay, Nikia, Crystal and April; four great grandchildren; sister Lusia of Kzakow, Polland; several nieces and nephews and many friends.
By request, there will be no visitations. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated from St. Joachim’s Church on Monday November 28, 2011 at 12 noon. Interment will follow in St. Joseph’s Cemetery. Memorial donations in memory of Janie made to the Canadian Cancer Society; Bobby’s Hospice or to the charity of the donor’s choice would be appreciated by the family.
