It is with great sadness that the family of the late David I. Butt announce his passing at the Health Sciences Complex in St. John’s on Tuesday, November 3, 2009 in his 67th year. Leaving to mourn with fond and loving memories his wife Helen, daughters: Diane (Carl) and Donna (Gord), grandchildren: Alicia, Mya, and Megan (Bryan), step-grandchildren: Matthew, Jonathan, Brock, and Brayden, brothers: Kevin (Diane), Ron (Janet), Jim (Gerarda), sister Goldie (Orvan), and sister-in-law Lorraine. Aunts Mercedes Wells (William) and Mamie Park (James), sister-in-law Vera Young (Dave), Louis Canning (Bill), Anne Cooke, brothers-in-law Gary Cooke (Joan), Don Cooke (Kay), and Murray Cooke. Also to special neighbor Lillian and John Park. He is predeceased by parents Ethel and John Butt, brothers: Bill and Jack, mother and father-in-law Vera and Donald Cooke. Also leaves to mourn a number of nieces, nephews, and many friends. The family will be receiving family and friends from the hours of 1-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. on Friday, November 6, 2009 at Country Haven Funeral Home 167 Country Road, Corner Brook. The funeral Mass will be held on Saturday, November 7, 2009 at 10:30 a.m. at Sacred Heart Parish, with Father Bernard Buckle officiating. Burial to follow at Mount Patricia Cemetery. Flowers or donations to a charity of one’s choice in David’s memory would be greatly appreciated by the family.
