James Scott Moffat, Water Street, Glace Bay, passed away Wednesday, November 4, 2009, at the Glace Bay Hospital.
Born in the United Kingdom on May 4, 1938, James was the son of the late James and Helen (Dalgleish) Moffat.
James was employed with Stanfields Ltd., Truro, for over 25 years, from which he retired in 2001. He was a former member of the Truro Golf Club and the Truro Fire Brigade.
Surviving are his loving wife and best friend, Kathy (McIntosh); daughters, Sandra (Jeff) Lambourne, Mahone Bay and Tricia (Jim) Lorraine, Truro; sister, Molly Jones, England; and his five adoring grandchildren, Nicholas, Eryn, Meghan, Gillian and Nathan.
James was predeceased by his brother, Bill.
There will be no visitation. A funeral service will take place 10 a.m. at Holy Cross Church, Glace Bay on Saturday, Nov. 14, 2009, with Rev. Conrad Edwards officiating. Interment in St. Joseph’s Cemetery, New Victoria.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Cancer Unit at the Cape Breton Regional Hospital, Palliative Care or a charity of your choice.
