Passed away suddenly on November 24, 2011 at his residence, Robert Harold Rideout of Botwood. He was 87 years of age. Mr. Rideout retired from Abitibi in 1988. He was a member of the Branch 12 Royal Canadian Legion, GFW (Past-President), the Veterans Action Committee, Dr. Hugh Twomey Health Center, Botwood, and the 166 Field Regiment Royal Artillery WWII. He was Predeceased by his wife, Agnes; son, Robert; daughter-in-law, Joanna; parents, Alfred and Aileen; brother, Harry; sister, Aileen. Left to mourn are sons, Gerry (Beatrice), Maurice (Annetta); daughter, Lorene (Terry); daughter-in-law Annabelle. Also leaving to mourn 11 grandchildren, Rob (Lisa), Daniel (Dion), Gerald (Theresa), Heather (Larry), Shannon (Joy), Christina (Wade), Stephanie (Jamie), Michael (Amanda), Jeff (Sally), Sean ( Lisa), Catherine (Jason), 16 great-grand-children, Robyn, Terri Lee, Daniel, Michelle, Joey, Shanna, Kayla, Rachel, Brianna, Matthew, Drew, Scott, Simon, Logan, Natalie, Ryan; four half-sisters, Yvonne, Joan, Clarice, Audrey; half-brother, Alfred and a large circle of other relatives and friends. Father Eugene Morris conducted funeral services from the St. John The Baptist Roman Catholic Church in Botwood on November 28, 2011. Interment followed from the Roman Catholic Cemetery, Botwood. Funeral arrangements by Hoskins Funeral Home, Botwood. Pallbearers were sons,Gerry and Maurice, grandsons, Rob, Jeff, granddaughter, Catherine, son-in-law,Terry.
