DOIRON, LÉANDRE - Léandre Doiron, 76, of Grand Barachois passed away on Tuesday, November 29, 2011 at the Dr. Georges L. Dumont University Hospital Centre, Moncton following a brief illness. Born August 1, 1948 at Dupuis Corner, he was the son of the late Alphée and Adèle (LeBlanc) Doiron. He worked as a roofer for 40 years. He was a member of the Grand Barachois Club d'âge d'or. Léandre enjoyed the nature that surrounded him and loved the simple things in life. He loved to pick blueberries, gardening and preparing his wood for the winter. He was also an avid Montréal Canadiens fan. A family man, Léandre will be sadly missed by his loving wife of 52 years, Rose (Vautour) Doiron and their three children: Claudette Bélanger (Daniel) of Cap-Pelé, Yvette Dubroy (Jimmy) and Richard (Jackie) both of Grand Barachois; his brother Camille (Mona) of Bridgewater, N.S. and four sisters: Jeanne Bourgeois (Albert) of Grande Digue, Évangeline Cormier (late Gérard) of Shediac, Dianna Surette (Omer) of Dieppe and Auréa Bourgeois (late Abel) of Moncton. He also leaves to mourn eight grandchildren: Jesse, Adrian, Ryan, Jordan, Jolaine, Justin, Felix and Étienne and many nephews, nieces and friends. He is predeceased by six brothers: Ola, Adrice, Ovila, Alcide, Henri and Alphée and by three sisters: Laurida, Laura and Delphine.
The family will receive relatives and friends at Frenette Funeralh Home Ltd., 396 Main St., Shediac (532-3297) on Thursday, from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. and Friday, from 9 a.m. until time of departure at 10:10 a.m. The funeral mass will be celebrated at St. Henri Roman Catholic Church, Grand Barachois on Friday, December 2, 2011 at 10:30 a.m. Interment in the parish cemetery.
