MATUSKA, Mabel (nee Moore) – Passed peacefully away on November 18, 2011 in Springfield, Missouri, aged 92. Born in St. John’s, she moved to San Antonio, Texas to live with her husband Frank Matuska. Mabs is predeceased by her husband Frank, son Joe Frank, parents John (Jack) and Lizzie (Crocker) Moore, brothers Alex, Ralph and Chesley, sisters Violet Clarke, Millicent Hollett, and Florence Moores. Leaving to mourn daughter Elizabeth Carson (Tom) in Rogersville, Missouri, brother Robert (Rosemary) and sister-in-law Barbara Moore in St. John’s, Newfoundland, two grandchildren and four great-grandchildren, as well as many nieces and nephews, and other relatives and friends. A service was held at the funeral chapel in Springfield, Missouri, followed by burial at the Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery in San Antonio, Texas. Mabs will be missed by her family and friends, and especially by her daughter, Elizabeth, who has been so loving, caring, and devoted to her mother for many years.
