Peacefully, at the Prince County Hospital, Summerside on Friday Dec. 2, 2011, of Gary F. Champion of 10 Hillside Drive, Kensington, aged 51 years. Born in Summerside on July 27, 1960, son of the late George D. Champion, and Muriel (Reeves Champion Bassett) Stavert, and Muriel’s partner (James Wall), Indian River. Husband of Marshia (Murphy-Nelson) Champion and the late Melinda H. (Ramsay) Champion. Father of Donald and Lindsey, Kensington. Stepfather of Chris (Janelle) Nelson, Irishtown Road and Jennifer Nelson (Clark Waite), Kensington. Grandfather to Jaiden. Brother of Jean (Wayne) Crozier, Kensington; Fulton,Kensington; Junior (Marie), Hamilton and Kevin (Sherry), Darnley. Son-in-law of Eunice Murphy, Kensington and the late John R. Murphy. Brother-in-law of Kenneth (Gail) Ramsay, Moncton; Audrey Crouse, Quispansis; Wallace (Myrna) Ramsay, Summerside; Faith LeClair (Paul Matheson), Kensington; Darlene (Mike) Poirier, Mont Carmel; Sterling (Norma) Murphy, Sea View, Earl Murphy, Kensington, Cathy (Ronnie) Bradford, Freetown and R. “Buddy” (Marcia) Clark, Travellers Rest. Also surviving are several nieces and nephews. Predeceased by step-fathers Ellsworth Bassett and Walter Stavert, brothers-in-law Carl and Clarence Russell Ramsay. Resting at the Davison Funeral Home Kensington for visitation on Saturday from 6:30-9 p.m. Funeral Sunday in the Davison Funeral Home Chapel at 1:30 p.m. Interment in People’s Cemetery, Malpeque. If so desired contributions may be made to the Children’s Wish Foundation or the Cancer Society.
