Loretta E. Newman of Harbourstone Enhanced Care Facility, formerly of 427 Townsend St., Sydney, passed away Sunday, Nov. 8, 2009 at the residence.
Born in Glace Bay, she was the daughter of the late John and Elizabeth (Penny) Newman.
She was a member of St. Theresa’s parish, Sydney. Loretta worked as a housekeeper in the Sydney area for the Donald MacDonald family of Hospital Street, Sydney for more than 30 years.
She is survived by her niece Jean (Pippy) Knighton, Nanaimo, B.C. and a number of grandnieces and grandnephews.
She was predeceased by a sister in infancy and by a sister Mrs. Lena Vatcher.
There will be no visitation. Private burial will take place at Resurrection Cemetery, Sydney Forks.
