Elzéa Gaudet
GAUDET, ELZÉA - Elzéa Gaudet, 90, wife of the late Arthur Gaudet of Résidence O’ Bons Soins, Shediac and formerly of Grand-Barachois passed away peacefully and surrounded by her loving family on Saturday, December 10, 2011 at the Dr. Georges-L. Dumont University Hospital Centre following a lengthy illness. Born January 28, 1921, she was the daughter of the late Edmond and Sara (Bourque) Babineau. Elzéa enjoyed quilting, knitting, Bingo, playing cards, and spending time with her friends and family. She is survived by her three children: Évariste (Hélène), Valmond (Cécile), and Ronald (Odette) all of Grand-Barachois; six grandchildren: Jacques, Pierrette, Stéphane, Christian, Rémi, and Sébastien; seven great-grandchildren; Patrick, Jean-Michel, Marc-André, Ashley, Sandrine, Maxime, and Yannick; her brothers and sisters; Réginald Babineau (Louisa) of Shediac, Louis Babineau (Jeannette) of Richibouctou, Rina LeBlanc (Edgar) of Grand-Barachois, and Dorothée Brun (late Omer) of Cap-Pelé; many nieces and nephews. Besides her husband Arthur (1990), Elzéa is also predeceased by two daughters; Hélèna Gaudet (1994) and Rosella (Éric) Ouellette (2010), a sister, Marguerite (1948), and a brother, Mélème (1994).
The family will receive condolences at Frenette Funeral Home, 396 Main Street, Shediac (532-3297). Visiting hours Monday, December 12 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m., and Tuesday, from 9 a.m. until departure. The funeral mass will be celebrated at St-Henri-de-Barachois R.C. Church, Grand-Barachois, on Tuesday, December 13, at 10:30 a.m. Interment will be in the parish cemetery.
