Passed peacefully away on December 14, 2011 at the Dr. Charles L. LeGrow Health Centre, Port aux Basques, John Ivany Smith of Bishop’s Falls. He was 91 years of age. Mr. Smith retired from Canadian National Railway in January 1983. He was predeceased by his wife, Evelyn; parents, Emmanuel and May; brothers, William, Munden, Joseph, Ralph and sister, Maude. Left to mourn son, David (Ruth); daughters, Maude (Walter) Budgell, and Kimberly Smith. Also leaving to mourn are seven grandchildren, eleven great-grandchildren; and a large circle of other relatives and friends. Pastor Barry Pelley conducted funeral services at the Calvary Pentecostal Tabernacle in Bishop’s Falls on Friday, Dec. 16, 2011. Interment at the Pentecostal Cemetery, Bond Street. Funeral arrangements were by Hoskins Funeral Home, Bishop’s Falls. Pallbearers were Bob Bradbury, Jim Wells, Jim Bradbury, Gerald Dillon, Ellison Hamlyn and Lloyd Harnum. Donations in his memory can be made to the Calvary Pente-costal Tabernacle Cemetery Fund, Bishop's Falls.
