It is with great sorrow that we announce the passing of our loving brother Lawrence at the Glace Bay Hospital in the early hours of Nov. 14, 2009.
Born in the North Shore, June 17, 1939, Lawrence was the son of the late Malcolm and Leta (MacAulay) Dauphney. At the time of his death he resided at the Dutch Brook Guest Home.
He was employed on the Great Lake Vessels for a number of years and lived in Hamilton for part of his live before moving back home.
He is survived by sisters, Margaret, Northside Guest Home, North Sydney, Elizabeth (George) Jerrett, Sydney Mines, and Neila Buchanan (Bob Carmichael), Sydney River; brothers, Allison, North Shore, Kenneth, Dartmouth, and Aubrey (Sheila), Wreck Cove. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews and great niece.
Lawrence was predeceased by parents and brother-in-law, Jack Buchanan.
Graveside service at 2 p.m. Tuesdasy in MacDonald Memorial Cemetery with Rev. Diane Kempt officiating.
Arrangements under the direction of Fillmore & Whitman Funeral Home, Sydney Mines.
