It is with great sadness that the family of the late Ruth Doretta Parsons announces her passing on Sunday December 18, at Dr. Charles L Leggrow Health Center at the age of 97 years. Born at Codroy, Ruth was the daughter of the late Thomas and Amelia Moore. She was also predeceased by her husband Willis John Parsons, her daughter Ada MacInnis, twin brothers Benjamin and Edwin. Sisters; May, Ida, Cassie. Sisters in law; Mary and Ivy. Brothers in law; James Reid, Thomas Ford, Charlie Samways, son in law, Philip Edstrom. She leaves to mourn with fond and loving memories her children; Doretta (Albert) Samms Codroy, Leona Edstrom, Jacqueline Cumby both of Paradise NL, Wilfred (Bernice) Parsons Goulds NL. Catherine (Larry) Pittman Conception Bay South NL, Suzanne (Calvin) Kettle Port aux Basques. Ruth will also be greatly missed by her 13 grandchildren, 13 great grandchildren, sister Winifred Samways of San Diego CA, son in law Ronald MacInnis and a large circle of nieces, nephews, extended family, and many friends. Visitation took place on Tuesday from 2-4 and 7-9 PM at Holy Trinity Anglican Church in Codroy. Funeral services took place on Wednesday December 21, 2 PM at Holy Trinity Anglican Church, officiated by Rev. Peter Boote. Interment followed at Holy Trinity Anglican Cemetery.
