It is with heavy hearts that we, the family announce the peaceful passing of Mary Carmella Cadden, 87, on Monday, Nov. 16, 2009, at the Maple Hill Manor, New Waterford.
Born and raised in New Waterford, Carmella was the daughter of the late Charles and Kathleen (Wall) Fortune.
Carmella was a resident for many years at the Maple Hill Manor.
She worked at one time at the Point Edward Hospital.
Carmella was a very quiet and private person, who enjoyed her family and friends.
She leaves to mourn her passing, her daughter, Isabel (James) MacIsaac, sisters, Eileen Rockett, Jenny Fortune, all of New Waterford; brother, Joseph Fortune, Montreal. Also left to mourn are her many grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren, as well as many nieces, nephews and friends.
Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, William Edward Cadden, daughter, Eileen Cadden, sisters, Evelyn, Hazel and brother, Bernie.
There will be no visitation as cremation has taken place. A memorial service will be held Thursday, Nov. 19, 2009, at 2 p.m. in the chapel of McLellan Brothers Funeral Home, 3183 Plummer Ave., New Waterford, with Deacon Leo Penny officiating. Interment will be in Union Grove Cemetery, Scotchtown.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Carmella’s memory to the Maple Hill Manor.
