Marc Fagan
With great sadness, the family of Marc J. Fagan, age 84, of Amherst announce his peaceful passing at the Cumberland Regional Health Care Centre on Thursday, December 22, 2011 with his family by his side.
Born in Cape Bauld, NB, he was a son of the late William and Annie (LeBlanc) Fagan
A steel worker, Marc worked at Robb Engineering for 37 years retiring in 1991. Marc was well known for his ability to produce beautiful grave markers, which are still in use after many years throughout the Maritimes. He was a member of the Holy Family Parish and active in "Our Lady's Community of the Lord's Praise Charismatic Prayer Group, and an honorary member of the Knights of Columbus. He was an avid bowler and enjoyed listening and playing Country Music and Hymns on his guitar. He spent many enjoyable years at the family cottage at Jackson's Point.
Marc will be sadly missed by his son, Gary, Amherst; 3 sisters, Lorraine Melanson, Lydia Lerette, and Viola Corbett, all of Amherst, as well as several nieces, nephews and cousins.
He was predeceased by his wife, Edna Marie (Comeau); sister Dorilla (Dot) Melanson; brothers, Philip, Father Omer and in infancy, Rene and Leo Paul.
Marc's remains have been entrusted into the care of the Furlong-Jones Funeral Home, Church Street, Amherst (667-8777) from where a time of visitation will be held on Tuesday, December 27 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm. Funeral Mass will be celebrated from the Holy Family Parish Church on Wednesday, December 28, 2011 at 11 am with Father Vernon Driscoll officiating. Parish Prayers will be held Tuesday at 8 pm. Donations in Marc's memory may be made to the Society of St. Vincent de Paul or a charity of the donor's choice. www.furlongjones.ca
