COOMBS, Gerard Joseph — Dec. 25, 1960 – Dec. 25, 2011; passed away as peacefully as he lived on his 51st Birthday on Christmas Day in the presence of his loving family at the Placentia Health Centre. Predeceased by his sister, Rosemary; grandparents, Peter and Martha Dunphy, Richard and Annie Coombs; uncles, Willie, Peter, and Andrew Dunphy, and Kenneth Coombs; aunts, Mary, Margaret and Mona Coombs and Rita Kean (Stan); cousin, James Coombs. Left with fond and loving memories, his parents, Thomas and Theresa Coombs; brothers and sisters, Francis (Jeanette), Richard, Patsy Ennis (Larry), Peter (Sarah), Ken (Jocelyn), Tommy, Derek and Ann Marie Barry (Tom); his precious nieces and nephews who he truly adored, Andrew and Jennifer Coombs, Patrick Ennis, Thomas Coombs, Shannon and Laura Rose Barry; his uncle, Gerald Dunphy and his aunt, Stella Dunphy and her family; his very dear friends Karen Mulrooney and Liz Roache; as well as a number of other relatives and friends including the Martin Family and his coworkers at Marine Atlantic, Argentia. Resting at Coombs Funeral Home, Placentia on Monday, December 26th from 4-9 p.m., Tuesday, December 27th from 2-9 p.m. Funeral to take place on Wednesday, December 28th, 2011 at 11 a.m. from Holy Rosary Church, Freshwater.
