The death occurred at the Prince County Hospital, Summerside, on Saturday, Dec. 24, 2011, of Barbara Simpson, of Summerside, aged 60 years. Born in Cable Head East, PE, she was the daughter of the late Alexander and Rita (MacKinnon) MacKinnon. Survived by her husband Jerry Simpson; son Shawn (Nicole) MacCormack, Summerside; step-children Rebecca (Darren) Dugay, Summerside; Jeremy (Janey) Simpson, Miscouche; Jonathan (Lola) Simpson, Ottawa, ON; J.C. Simpson (Lana Griffith), Stratford; granddaughter Elizabeth MacCormack; 14 step-grandchildren; one step-great-grandson; brothers and sisters David (Heather) MacKinnon, Cable Head East; Bernadette (Raymond) Wilson, St. Peters; Marie (Kevin) McInnis, Stratford; and by sister-in-law Mamie MacKinnon, St. Peters. Predeceased by her first husband Cliff MacCormack and her brother Kenneth MacKinnon. Resting at the Moase Funeral Home, Summerside, until Friday, then to Trinity United Church, Summerside, for funeral service at 10 a.m. Interment in Peoples Cemetery, Summerside. Visiting hours Thursday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Memorial donations to Hospice Palliative Care Association would be appreciated.
