After giving the gift of life and laughter to others, Larry lost his own on December 27, 2011 at his home after a long but courageous battle with cancer. He would be the first to say he always lived life to the fullest and the max and enjoyed every adventure. Larry called travelling his hobby and was an avid scuba diver, but enjoyed camping, all sports and seeing many countries most dream of. A large part of Larry's life was involved with community service work. For many years he was a member and held executive positions within Kinsmen Club, Shrine Club and Ducks Unlimited. His collection of ducks and supportive memorabilia in his home is a testament to his support of the community. One of his favourite spots and passions, was the success of Casa Canada, an island resort on Corn Island, Nicaragua. Prior to that, the development of North Shore Estates at Buffalo Pound. He was never afraid to accept the challenge of any project he took on and worked very hard to make it a success. He graduated from Central Collegiate in Moose Jaw and received his journeyman refrigeration mechanic license. After working for a few years at his trade, he opened up his own business - Guaranteed Refrigeration in Moose Jaw which has celebrated 25 plus years and counting. Larry always had time to entertain people and always made time for fellowship with others. He will be deeply missed by these amazing friends. Larry will be forever in the hearts of his loving family, Brigitte, brother Terry and his wife, Karen, their children Ashley (Kenny), Curtis and Chad, and Brigitte, as well as his many friends. He is predeceased by his younger brothers Wayne and Kelly and his father, Gilbert (Cougar) Johnson. A Celebration of Larry's Life will be held, Friday, December 30, 2011 at 1:30 p.m. at the Moose Jaw Alliance Church, (corner of 9th Ave. N.W. and Thatcher Dr.) Reverend Dave Moore will officiate. Memorialization will take place at Prairie Memorial Columbarium at a later date. If so desired, friends may make tributes in Larry's name directly to The Shriner’s Children’s Hospital, The Kinsmen Telemiracle Foundation or to Duck’s Unlimited.
