MATCHETT, PEGGY - 1932 - 2011 - Peggy Matchett passed away peacefully at the Moncton Hospital on Friday, December 30, 2011. Born in Moncton daughter of the late Harvey and Adelia (Ayles) Doughtwright. She will be sadly missed by her husband of 55 years Russell Matchett, two daughters Susan (Thomas) Lorette, Jenny (Trent) Hendy both of Riverview, four granddaughters; Amy Lynn (Tyler) Carnegie, Katie (Mathew) O'Blenis, Kelly (Michael) Gunter, Kandace (James) Giles and six great grandchildren. She is also survived by her sister Shirley (Ben) Gallant, brother James Douthwright and many wonderful nieces and nephews whom she loved dearly. Besides her parents, Peggy was predeceased by her daughter Wendy Matchett. Among Peggy's many talent, she was a gifted cake decorator, loved baking, hosting parties and having her family and friends over. She was a member of the Moncton Wesleyan Church and she committed her life to God. She learned sign language from her cousin and felt at ease baking and socializing at events for the deaf.
A funeral service will be held at the chapel of Fair Haven Funeral Home on Sunday, January 1, 2011 at 2:00 pm followed by interment in Fairhaven Memorial Gardens at a later date.
