Evelyn Elizabeth Johnston, of George Street, Sydney, passed away Friday, December 30, 2011, at the Cape Breton Regional Hospital.
Born in Pleasant Bay, she was the daughter of the late Kenneth and Mary (Hinkley) Timmons.
Surviving are her daughter, Shirley (Donnie) Lund; sons, Ray (Joan) and Henry (Karen), all of Sydney; eight grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
Evelyn was predeceased by her husband, Wilbur ‘Chock’; son, Kenneth; sisters, Katie, Reta and Bertha; brothers, Henry, Earnest, John, Donald, William and Howard.
Visitation will take place at Sydney Memorial Chapel on Monday 12-2 p.m., followed by a service in the chapel at 2 p.m., with Rev. Jackie MacDonald officiating. Interment in Oakfield Cemetery.
